Cross River Rail Development Authority

Project

Cross River Rail (CRR) is a 10.2 kilometre (5.4 kilometre underground) rail line through the centre of Brisbane, with the main aims of easing congestion and improving rail based accessibility to the CBD through four new underground rail stations and an upgrade to the Exhibition Station.

The investment in CRR enables additional rail services to be run on the Caboolture Line to the north and Gold Coast and Cleveland Lines to the south, significantly increasing the accessibility delivered to the land market catchments surrounding these stations.

LUTI’s Role

The Cross River Rail Authority engaged the integrated project team of LUTI Consulting, Cox Architects and JLL to conduct a rapid assessment of the land use response to the Cross River Rail (CRR) project at 10 stations selected across the rail network, with a focus on responding to the travel time and service frequency improvements delivered by CRR.

As part of the update to the CRR Business Case, land use forecast growth redistributions had to be conducted along with wider economic benefit and urban renewal economic benefit appraisals.

LUTI Consulting were lead consultant leading a land use team with Cox Architecture and JLL, and worked with the PwC team on the economic appraisal update.
